As part of the Hospitals response to the COVID-19 pandemic a call centre was set up to support Occupational Health to manage the increased volume of calls from staff relating to COVID-19. The call centre is run by staff nurses and supported by HR and QPS. In addition, IT supported Occupational Health by developing a data base to log and track calls.
During the month 5th April to the 3rd May 2020, with this additional support Occupational Health were able to manage a total of 4568 incoming calls. This included answering queries, referrals for testing, provision of results and contact tracing.
The Occupational Health Call Centre continues to operate 7 days per week from 7.30am to 5pm each day. A huge thank you to all staff involved in the Occupational Health Call Centre, many of whom have had to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
Remember social distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette continue to be our main lines of defence. Staff with symptoms or concerns relating to COVID-19 should continue to call 01 809 3273.
