Key Responsibilities

The principal duties and responsibilities of the Operations Project Manager(s) for the RCSI Hospital Group are:

Key Duties

  • To lead in the delivery of projects and initiatives on areas of specific performance to improve the achievement of Access Targets for both Scheduled and Unscheduled Care.
  • Take a lead role in an assigned area and deliver improvement on the performance in that area through the application of a structured Project Management approach involving the validation and analysis of appropriate data.
  • On the basis of data and evidence, engage, influence and manage across a range of service, professional and organisational boundaries, working with staff at various levels of seniority to achieve the agreed RCSI Hospital Group Operational Plan targets and National targets.
  • In collaboration with Hospital Senior Management Teams, COO and clinical stakeholders, structure, initiate, manage and evaluate interventions, using performance data to achieve measurable improvement in service.
  • To support sites in the creation and maintenance of detailed demand and capacity plans for both scheduled and unscheduled care to inform operational management, future service developments and business planning. This will include liaising with key stakeholders and developing reports for monitoring demand and capacity within the system, therein ensuring optimal ‘patient flow’ aligned to available resource.
  • To provide management information and reports on scheduled and unscheduled care as appropriate and such other reports as may be required from time to the Group Executive team regarding performance metrics, data analytics, data management and interpretation and make recommendations where required.
  • Demonstrate pro-active commitment to all communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc and any other appropriates national standards. Ensuring all projects support adherence to these standards or guidelines as appropriate.

Essential Criteria

Knowledge/Experience

Candidates must have at the latest date of application. 

  •  Significant experience of managing in the area of scheduled and unscheduled care / hospital operations
  • Evidence of leading out on significant change and performance improvements in the health sector
  • Experience of data measurement analysis and production of high quality reports

 

Secondments will be considered on application
